Drilling the ninth well of the Kish gas field development plan
Quoting Pars Oil and Gas Company, Abdullah Mehrabi stated: With the completion of the ninth well in the first phase of the Kish gas field development plan, with the employer being Pars Oil and Gas Company and the contractor being the National Iranian Drilling Company, another step was taken to build production capacity in this field.
He added: The completion of Well No. 4 in Cluster 2 of the field’s onshore wells, as the ninth well of the plan, has increased the production capacity to 630 million cubic feet of gas per day (equivalent to 18 million cubic meters of gas), which is nearly 65 percent of the planned production capacity.
The Kish gas field, with an estimated reserve of 40 trillion cubic feet of gas, is known as the 17th largest gas reservoir in the world. With the full implementation of the defined phases of its development plan, it will create gas production capacity equivalent to three phases of South Pars.
With the completion of activities related to the Phase One development plan of the Kish field in the coming years, 28.3 million cubic meters of gas will be injected into the national distribution network daily, which will be effective in helping to resolve the energy imbalance in the country.
